1st Flute Bar 177, Beat 1 thru 185, 2 tempo 71
This section should be played in a bright and lively style. Practice at a slower tempo at first for accuracy. Listen to the rest of the flute section for pitch and watch out for the F# accidental notes in measures 181,182, and 183. Make sure that you are not playing too loud so that you can hear the trumpets. They have the melody.
2nd Flute Bar 177, Beat 1 thru 185, 2 tempo 71

Bassoon Bar 56, Beat 1 thru 71, 4 tempo 148
This section should be played in an intense style. Start out playing at a p dynamic level and immediately crescendo to f by beat 3. Emphasize the accented notes in measures 56, 57, 62, 63. and 64. Make sure that you play the fp and crescendo to f in measures 64 – 66.

Decrescendo to p at the end of measure 56. Watch out for the F# accidental not in measure 59 and note that you are playing f with the third trumpets. Listen for the first trumpets to come in on beat 3 of measure 60.
3rd Bb Cornet/Trumpet Bar 52, Beat 1 thru 62, 1 tempo 153
This section should be played in a lively style. Make sure that the staccato notes in measures 52 – 57 are light and separated. Start out playing at a f dynamic and decrescendo to mp by measure 53.
