Marching Band Camp 2016 information

We are just a couple of weeks away from the start of our journey together. We, the staff, are so excited to get to work with your kids this year.

Below you will find the following:

  • an updated camp schedule
  • an updated band schedule (summer and fall)
  • the fee structure and worksheet (you will need to print this off and send it with your son/daughter to band camp on Tuesday, July 26th, with a check made payable to LSWHS or cash)

Please notice that we changed the time of the performance/meeting to 4:30pm on Friday, July 29th. We will have much to do and show you that afternoon. Hope you can get off work a little early and join us.

All new members (regardless of grade level) should report to Rookie Camp on Friday, July 22nd at 8am in the band room at LSWHS. We will be finished 12pm.

All other members of the band should report to Camp on Monday, July 25th, at 8am in the PAC at LSWHS. We will be finished at 4pm each day that week.

Marching Band Rehearsal next Tuesday, July 22nd

Greetings Titan Pride Family,

Summer’s not over yet, but we’ve begun our march toward success. The colorguard has been working weekly all summer long and making progress toward their best season yet. The drumline just finished a week of camp and have exceeded their goals in preparation for the season as well, I’ve heard great things. Thank you to all students, parents, and staff for continued hard work and dedication to our band.

PHYSICALS

Have you had your physical exam yet?

Have you turned in the attached form to Mrs. Seabaugh yet?

If you answered “no” to either question, make sure you accomplish both by August 4th.

(See below: Physical form.pdf)

REHEARSAL, TUESDAY, JULY 22, 6pm to 9pm

Rehearsal next Tuesday will be similar to our June rehearsal. Please be on time and meet in the PAC. It is looking like it will be hotter than our June rehearsal, so come prepared as we will spend some time outside.

FEES

I will handout fee worksheets on Tuesday to take home. Fees will be due the week of band camp.

See you soon! Memorize that music!!!!

FNL DVD's and end of the year wrap-up

Thank you Choir Families for an amazing 2013-2014 school year! If you ordered an FNL DVD those have been mailed to you. If you have not received it within the next few days please email amy.krinke@leesummit.k12.mo.us. Also, the Senior Slideshow was not included in the DVD this year. If you would like a copy of the Senior Slideshow, you can pick one up at the main office here at LSW during normal business hours.

As we conclude this year, I want to once again thank and send our well wishes to Ryan Sullivan – who forever is a Titan, even though he’s moving to Texas! Thank you Ryan, you have impacted so many lives in your short time at LSW. We will miss you tremendously, but are so excited for you and this new chapter. Good luck to you!

Have a wonderful summer everyone – See you in August!

Amy Krinke

Fireworks Time

The LSW Music Parent group will once again be selling fireworks at the high school. This is a great fundraiser for our organization and we need everyone’s help to make it a great success. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to the LSWMP general fund.

A training session will be held June 24th at Pyro City in Lone Jack, Mo. This training session is optional, but it is a great place to learn how to run the cash registers and to learn more about fireworks that we will be selling this year.

Volunteer Opportunities:

June 30th Setup: The truck will be at the school at 7 a.m. and we need lots of volunteers to help set up the tent. If you are available during this time, please sign up to help.

July 1st to July 4th Fireworks: There are several three-hour shifts throughout each day; please sign up for a shift to assist with selling fireworks.

July 4th Packup: Again we will need lots of volunteers to help tear everything down; the more volunteers that we have, the faster it will get done. If you are available; please sign up to help.

The volunteer sign-up schedule has been added to the Charms calendar. To sign up:

Go to www.charmsoffice.com

Select Enter in the upper right-hand corner and then select Parents/Students/Members

Enter school code: lswhsmusic

Click on the Public Calendar icon

Go to the day that you wish to volunteer and click on the hand

STUDENTS:

Once again we are offering a special LIMITED opportunity for the first 7 students to volunteer to setup and packup. Students that sign up for the special STUDENT ONLY shifts will earn $15 per 2 hour shift. This money will be deposited directly to their student account.

Students can earn Community Volunteer hours by volunteering at the tent. You must be 18 or older to work the cash register, but students can re-stock merchandise and assist customers.

Thank you!

Volunteer Coordinator
