Titan Pride Update, Turkey edition 2014

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. I hope this email finds you well and looking forward to a relaxing long weekend. Here are some bits of information and updates for the band world:

All State Band Auditions
There are several students involved in All-State Band auditions on Saturday, December 6th. If you have one of these students, you will need to transport your son/daughter to/from Columbia, MO. The auditions will take place at Columbia-Hickman High School. There are no scheduled times for these auditions. Mr. Thurmond and Mr. Harrel will be on-site with registration forms. You will need to find us upon arriving at the high school and get your audition number. At this point, students will go to their audition room and sign up for an audition spot (no times). More information (including maps and transportation release) will come home next week.

Winter Concert – December 8th
All bands will be performing at our Winter Concert. Please make sure all uniform parts are purchased and in order before the concert.

Concert #1 will start at 6pm and will include the Percussion Ensemble and Concert Band
Concert #2 will start at 7:30pm and will include the Symphonic Band and Titan Jazz Band
We hope all family and friends can attend this concert at such a wonderful time of year.

Are you going to Washington DC with us?
If so, you need to be at the MANDATORY trip meeting in between the two concerts on December 8th at 7pm in the PAC.
At this meeting you will be given lots of information that will take some immediate action on your part, so don’t miss it.
PLEASE make sure you have caught up on payments by THIS SUNDAY!

Cinderella Pit Orchestra
If your son/daughter made it into the pit orchestra for the winter musical, Cinderella, please print off the attached schedule and get the dates into your calendar now to prevent conflict.

Pep Band
ALL band students will participate in TWO pep band performances this winter. Please add these two dates to your calendar as well.
Friday, January 9th
Tuesday, February 24th

Una Voce St. Louis Itinerary

Dear Una Voce Families:

In case your student has not shared the itinerary for this weekend, I’ve attached it to this email. The choral department is taking care of all of the costs associated with this trip, except for food.

If you are planning on driving to St. Louis to hear the concert, the address for the concert venue is listed in the itinerary.

Also, obviously many of us have seen St. Louis quite a bit in the news these days. Please know we are not staying near Ferguson, MO. Clayton, where we are staying is a very upscale part of the city. If anything unfolds in the next two days we will adjust anything we feel necessary to keep LSW students absolutely safe.

The kids are REALLY excited and have been working hard!

Thank you!

Amy Krinke

Redemptorist Concert on SUNDAY

Dear Choir Families:

This e-mail contains important information regarding Sunday’s performance at Redemptorist Church. An itinerary was passed out to students in Concert Choir today, Titan Harmony students in Freshman Women and Women’s Choir will receive it tomorrow. I have attached it to this e-mail.

I would encourage all of you to attend and support your student. Redemptorist Church is one of the finest acoustic venues for choral singing in Kansas City. We have specifically selected music to be sung in this space. The concert heavily features the Concert Chorale. The kids are singing very well, and it is going to be a stunning concert. This space holds 1200, so bring friends and family!

The students need to arrive to LSW dressed in their performance attire at 12:20 to load the buses. The sanctuary will open at 2:30 for seating, with the concert starting at 3:00. There is not a large lobby for gathering prior to 2:30, also restrooms are limited at the church. There is ample parking next door and behind the church. Please see attached sheet for more details.

This is a free event. We will collect a small donation at the conclusion of the concert, to offset the cost to provide this opportunity to our students.

Please e-mail if you have any questions. See you Sunday!

Amy Krinke and Jacob Lowry
