All District Orchestra Audition Information

Good Morning All District Orchestra Auditioners and Parents!

This coming Saturday, Nov. 8th, we have the KC Metro All-District Orchestra Auditions taking place at Liberty High School. Below, you will see a list of students and their audition times as well as their audition room number. I encourage the students to dress comfortably but not sloppy. This is a blind audition (judges will not see students) so super professional attire is not needed. I will be posting the results of the audition on titanmusic.org so please check the site on Saturday afternoon so that you can see results.

Here is a link to google maps that shows the address and directions to the school. Plan on a full 45 minute drive to the school. Try to arrive about 30 minutes before your audition time to warm up and be mentally prepared before you enter.

Map to Liberty High School from LSWHS

I will be at Liberty HS during the auditions and available if anyone needs me. My mobile phone number is: 816-520-4180. Please call me if you need anything.

Please see the attached PDF file to see your audition time and room number.

Best of luck to all!

Mr. Mosier

Titan Pride Update, Saturday, October 31

Don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour tonight!

What a great season it was, wrapping it all up with the first annual Glow Show. It was a success and memories were made. Now on to celebrating!

Unfortunately, the Titan football team lost their game last night, so we will not be having anymore home games this season.

Future events/information

  1. All-District Band Auditions, Saturday, November 7th. For the students who have cleared the screening audition with me, your time is posted on the band room door. There are several kids who will be doing a second screening audition THIS Thursday to determine if they get to move on to Saturday’s audition or not. They MUST know their major/minor/chromatic scales or they cannot move on. In addition, they must be able to play ALL of the etudes and exercises in the audition packet. IF I decide they are not ready to move on, they will need to pay $10 for their forfeited audition spot.
  2. Band Banquet, Monday, November 23rd. Our marching season year-end banquet will be Monday, November 23rd at 7pm in the commons here at LSWHS. Look next week for a reservation form for family and friends.
  3. Winter Concert, Monday, December 7th. ALL members of Percussion Class, Freshman Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band will be performing in this concert. Please make sure your concert outfit is ready to go. The concert will begin at 6pm.
  4. Pep Band. We will begin playing at basketball games in January. Look for more information to come home concerning your group’s performance dates.

Finally, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all of the volunteers from the marching season. It was amazing to watch the amount of commitment you all gave to the band. We couldn’t have been successful without you. We are blessed!

Have a great weekend!

Fall Orchestra Concert

Last evening’s concert was one of the finest fall concerts that the LSWHS orchestra program has given since the school opened. The orchestras did everything I asked musically, and I could not be more proud of our students. Please enjoy these recordings of each groups performance from last evening. – Mr. Mosier
